Training Format – Harvest Multiplication Training (HMT)

We believe and have seen that small things done differently by ordinary people when discipling new believers and emerging leaders can lead to significant harvest multiplication. What needs to be done often involves counter intuitive skills and approaches.

HMT skills and approaches can be experienced in various formats.

  • As a set of 3 separate training modules of several days each, spread over months. This allows for implementation between modules with coaching integrated into the subsequent training modules.
  • The 3 modules can run back to back together (10 days total) with specialised coaching following later.
  • In other combinations according to your context and request.

The training is based on learning six interconnected biblical movement activities, which are exemplified in the life of Jesus and the Apostles:

1. Pray and Go
2. Spread Good News
3. Believe and Baptise
4. Disciple Disciple-Makers
5. Gather
6. Multiply Leaders

As the six movement activities are unpacked you will get insights and skills such as:

  • Getting unstuck in evangelism and discipleship.
  • Working with Holy Spirit to overthrow “lostness”, the main problem. Jesus came to seek and save the lost. Let’s not be intimidated by this or that religion or belief as if it’s the main problem.
  • The importance of the “Person of Peace” and patiently investing the right “DNA” for reproduction. Make Disciple-Makers, not just make disciples/believers.
  • Simple reproducible patterns for a local ecclesia (the gathered believers).
  • Learn basic skills and principles to see leaders reproducing leaders, and fellowships reproducing fellowships. Learn dynamics to get to third generation and beyond.
  • Learn to use tools for: evangelism, training, evaluation, tracking generations and coaching. Practice daily at HMT to develop competences.
  • Identify unfruitful beliefs/paradigms in the way you do things, build right beliefs.
  • Experience participative study of Scripture and lots of case studies with group discussion.
  • Learn what to avoid: methods that are too complicated, foreign, costly or non-reproducible locally. How to avoid money getting in the way of movements.
  • Receive mentoring and follow-up coaching to implement change.
  • How to integrate Disciple Making Movement dynamics into other transformational ministries such as community development, health care etc.
  • Facilitated by active trainers and current movement practitioners.

HMT is good for:

* Short-term outreach teams
* Local, long-term evangelism
* Work among migrants or minorities
* Reaching unreached people groups
* Discipling Spheres of Society
